Common solutions for blocking light from the top of your window.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue.If the blackout curtain is on a curtain rod:&#xA0;<ol><li>Make sure that the fabric of the curtain lies against the top edge of the window frame. In order to block out the light, you will want the fabric to create a backward &quot;L&quot; shape towards the window, as shown below. The best way to achieve this is to place the curtain rod above and close to the window, as most standard curtain rods work well in this regard. You will also want to&#xA0;ensure that the fabric is stretched taut between the magnetic blocks along either yellow line number 1 or 2, as indicated in the photo below. <img src="https://attachments.gorgias.help/3dBwk7Wj3ea2NZ9m/hc/JWE4j73G4K7ZlV9b/2024040722-43db0c0a-9513-4c0b-aa85-dcb3508d1f6f-untitled%20design%20(12).png" style="width: 300px;" class="fr-fic fr-dib fr-fil fr-rounded"></li><li>If you are using our blackout base layer,&#xA0;be sure every one of the curtain ring holes has a curtain ring used (there are 14 total). If you need to reposition the window plates, we recommend holding the fabric in the places where the window plates will be. A curtain rod that is placed at least 6&quot; above and close to your window will help eliminate light leaks.&#xA0;</li></ol> If the blackout curtain panel is used without a curtain rod:<ol><li>The adhesive strips can be placed on any smooth surface. Some windows work best with the window plates attached to the top/inside portion of the window frame, or if you have a window casing the window plates can even be placed on the outside of your window on the wall. We recommend holding the fabric in the places where the window plates will be before adhering them to the window. It&apos;s recommended that you clip the Blackout Blocks close to the seam of the curtain on the top. This will reduce the weight of the fabric in between the blocks and ensure the curtain doesn&apos;t droop.
